Having your birthday coincide with the first day of classes rather puts a damper on the celebratory mood. Still, it's the first day of my senior year and things went well. It should be a good year.

I don't think I've ever been this confused in my life. He claims he doesn't understand me, but I've been as straightforward with him as I can possibly be without utterly embarrassing myself. I don't know what he wants.

The gift he left, and though there was no note, it wasn't exactly difficult who to guess it was from, is beautiful. I love it, but I hate it, too, because I can't figure out why he did it. He seems to want nothing to do with me, but then he goes and does this.

Damn it. I'm as tangled up as the vines that decorate it, and I don't know what to do.
