sugarandice: (I Cannot Tell A Lie)

Trick-or-treating with a group of Lower School girls is... interesting, to say the least. The more sugar they have, the faster they speak and the more high-pitched their voices become. I'm pretty sure by the time we returned them to their dorms, only dogs and perhaps a few Skinwalkers could actually hear them.

Other than that, it was fairly uneventful, which I'm coming to understand is a good thing, especially with children. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Strange to think that there's only three weeks of classes left before break.

[PRIVATE]

Three days later and I still can't figure out quite where my head is. I should have known better than to dress as a faery... or at least better than to have shown up at home in the costume. Really, I shouldn't care what they think, but as much as I pretend that nothing touches me, it's still not fun to be mocked. Even if it's only by your mundane brother's idiot friends.

I looked good, though, and Peter liked it. Peter...

That's the crux of all of it, isn't it? Peter. Peter who I couldn't tell I wasn't interested in anyone currently. But what does that mean? And what does it mean that when I was upset, I wanted to be closer to him when usually I push people away?

Sometimes I don't understand myself. And I only have one person I can talk to in general, and I certainly can't talk to him about this in specific. Which leaves me... spinning in my own head.

So that's what the ringing in my ears was. And here I thought people were playing around with whistles again.

What is there to do around here on break?

You have to work over the break? Man, that sucks. Or well, sucks if it's something horrible. Suppose it wouldn't suck too much if it's actually something enjoyable...

What do they actually import from Britain?

Tom and Harry are still pretty common I think. Nobody wants to be named Dick though. That's just begging for you to get your ass kicked.

Are those things really that different over in the UK?

Any time you want to use the supplies in the art room, you're welcome to stop by, as long as I'm not teaching. Although you might find the easels there awfully short.

Outside's starting to get kind of cold for painting, though.

I can give you the paint and the paper then, if you want to try it out. Although the cold might make the paint kind of viscous and not splatter very well.

We did pretty decently in the lower school art room, didn't we?

Any time, really. I'm not very busy.

No finals at all. I just get to spend that week making sure things are cleaned up. I'll do classes during break, though, for the kids who are still here. Just fun things.
